Ameland is one of the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands. It is located north of Friesland and is about 14 km2 in size. The island is known for its beautiful beaches, nature and bird sanctuaries. There are several villages on the island, including Ballum, Buren and Nes. There are also several tourism facilities, such as hotels, campsites and restaurants. Ameland is a popular destination for holidaymakers, especially in the summer months.
